We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Planner to lead and deliver high-quality environmental planning advice across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role will involve managing complex assessments, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and providing practical solutions that support responsible development and regulatory compliance. You will work with internal and external stakeholders, technical specialists, consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure environmental considerations are embedded throughout project planning and delivery.
Key responsibilities will include preparing, reviewing, and managing environmental impact assessments, planning reports, environmental management plans, and approval documentation. You will provide expert advice on relevant environmental legislation, planning frameworks, policy requirements, and approval pathways, while identifying potential risks and recommending effective mitigation measures. The role will also involve coordinating field investigations and technical studies, overseeing consultant performance, monitoring project schedules and budgets, and contributing to stakeholder engagement and consultation activities. You will be expected to support project teams through planning approvals, environmental assessments, compliance activities, and post-approval monitoring.
To be successful, you will have substantial experience in environmental planning, impact assessment, or a closely related discipline, together with relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, planning, natural resource management, or a similar field. You will bring strong knowledge of environmental legislation and approval processes, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to interpret complex technical information and present it clearly to varied audiences. Experience managing projects, mentoring team members, and working across multiple priorities is highly desirable. Strong analytical, organisational, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with a practical, collaborative approach and a commitment to achieving high-quality environmental outcomes.
